In the 1st month - my hubby started his job, my son started school and I got a job offer. At weekends we were flying around all the open homes and there were so many to choose from. We bought our cars too - it was crazy but exciting.
I started work on 21st Nov and we bought our house and moved in on 19th December. Just in time for our 1st hot xmas - it was cool.

Sleepless as I contemplate what the future will bring with it, I think the past and how I've come full circle.

At 17 I went to Iran to visit a friend and ended up staying there, getting married and having kids... until the revolution of '79. That changed my world and that of my family. Most of the family went to the US and have died since. My kids grew up British and not suprisingly dissassociate themselves with Iran. Me ...well Iran was were I grew up and it was a very different place to how it is today.

So as I think about returning there I am filled with apprehension. It will not be as I remember it, it will not be as I left it. What will it be like?
What will I do there?

Over the years since Ive been back in the UK, Ive missed Iran, I even think about it as home. I made a life for myself and my family here but I never quite fitted in again, Is this a problem people like me have in common? I remember feeling homesick for the UK when I was there and homesick for Iran when I was here.

I have no doubt that I can fit in again there as much as a foreign wife can . Language is not a problem, neither culture. So what am I worried about?? I have yet to work that out. I guess another life change is enough.

I joined this Forum because i had finally decided that i wanted to retire to either New Zealand or Australia.
Talking to members here i finally decided on Oz, but looking into it in more detail, all is not as simple as i thought.
You need alot of savings $500,000 + and another $500,000 + invested in a business account which is much more than i can afford, i suppose there looking for qualified people and not old age pensioners.:twitcy:
What i can do is spend 6 months in Oz and 6 months in the UK which is more than likely what i'll end up doing.
Now all i have to do is find out which part of Oz to spend 6 months in ? i may well end up going from state to state. One thing i do know is that i want to meet some of the great & friendly members that frequent this Forum.

Collected medicals last Thursday and sent visa applications on Friday. Party was great - we played a DVD we made of all our old pictures which went down well.
