    NZ or Canada for me.

If I had to stop in the UK it would be somewhere fairly out of the way.
    Say tucked away in Cornwall.

We were seriously debating California before Oz. I am in the great position as an RN that my job can take me anywhere in the world but California was several years of retraining for me before i could even think of going for their entrance exams. Its not like Oz, you cant just re-register!

So anywhere else in the world, California.

If we had to stay in UK I (Jo) would say The Lake District.
Mark would stay Somerset - Im sure thats for the cider!

Probably NZ for us - I was lucky enough in the UK to have mental health officer status which meant I could retire at 55 (not now I'm in oz), so may have retired to Spain.

We considered Canada and New Zealand. We chose Australia because it offered more opportunities for the kids (21 and 17) in regard to their studying.

17 year old is adamant he is either off to the USA or back to the UK when he's finished training (in 2/3 yrs time) but we knew that when we came here as regretably we always knew that Oz wouldnt work career wise for him although the training is excellent (and a whole lot more affordable, even taking into account the cost of migrating!)

21 year old, although not coming until next year now, hopes to settle here for good as the training for her occupation is a world leader and its in demand plus she loves it here!
