Thread: Coldest Aussie Summer For 50 Years

What is it you don't like about Perth Chris? Have you lived here? How does Brisbane differ? Ive never been but imagine it would be too busy for me. I like the sound of far north QLD but not the tropical weather, I also like the sound of Tassie but not the cold weather. Ideally we'd live in the South West of WA but then would be too cold in Winter...perfection does not exist!

There are 2 main problems for me with Perth, the isolation is the biggest issue. WA also has some extremely archaic wildlife laws which make keeping and breeding reptiles virtually impossible. For people that are just into a normal quiet life I expect it would be fine but for us no way.

Ok, thats understandable. Im not much of a traveller (would like to be) so I guess I dont feel the isolation. So many places in WA I want to see before we even get onto the rest of Australia, then theres all the Asian countries above WA only a few hours away......I do agree that WA seems slow to progress, it is kind of sleepy but I love that about the place personally. A quiet life for me please.

We hope to have our cake and eat it, a quiet life in a village but access to all the things we love.
