Football Players Wanted - (Still wont call it Soccer!)

Ex-Pat from Liverpool (30) living on Brisbane North Side. If your keen for a game of football next season (Jan to Aug) I am looking for a a few guys to join a Football team in Grange...especially a Goal Keeper. Must be decent players as we are a serious team (when I say serious I mean we play to win...think of it like your saturday arvo teams back home - we are however a little less serious when it comes to training - lol). We had a number of players leave end of last season and I am trying to get a few more Poms (ideally aged 25+) on the team to give it a more social/mature outlook. Cheers Steve.

I've been in Perth since 1966 and it sounds as if your team would have made the 'A' league here then. Newly arrived from the UK I went to watch the match of the day. It was about UK Sunday League in the park standard. And these were two of the team names I recognised from doing the English off season Pools. Improved a bit since then of course. Can't help with team selection though, but good luck, you're better off playing than watching.

      Hi Steve,

I know this isnt much help to you now but perhaps at the start of the 2011 I will be up for it. I am currently waiting to hear back from DIAC regarding my visa so I will still be in the UK for sometime but I have played football for most of life and would really like to get back into it, played saturday and Sunday leagues in Manchester as a Striker or anywhere in Midfield.
So just keep my details stored and once I am over there I shall contact you through here or through 'poms in oz'. I mainly use poms in oz regarding contact.

But will glady play again, cheers.
