Thinking Leaving The UK For Good??! Or 9 Months...

Hi, it is a week since I last put a message in to the forum, but no replies so far so I am hoping that this may generate at least one response! 5 weeks now until I hit Auckland, leaving the UK for good?! It doesn't feel real yet... I will be shipping my stuff soon such as it is and packing up my place to be rented out. Did anybody else feel like that running up to the time that you emigrate, leave all your family, your job, your friends etc? that it is just not really happening? I have a Visitors Visa only, so I cannot work. Does anyone have any tips on the possibility of voluntary work in and around the Auckland area at all? I am looking to (hopefully) meet some really nice new people and do a bit of volunteer work during the week. Has anybody done that and it is feasible? Otherwise what do you do with your time during the week if not working. I have a hectic stressful job here in the UK. Thank you for any advice you can give me.:v_SPIN:

Best of luck with your move. Leaving the UK is strange and especially after your shipment has gone. A very strange experience. You're lucky to be going to such a beautiful country. Wish they had a retirement visa scheme

Good for you! Have you tried 'Googling' voluntary work in NZ? Best of luck to you. I'm going to NZ in Feb. Horray!

    Volunteering

    Hi there,

St John Ambulance operate on the same system as they do in the UK. I know they will welcome you. On the plus side you also get to see some very good events etc.
