Poor Poms need help on arrival in Sydney!

    Hi,

I'm arriving in Sydney on September 21st '10 with my 24 year old daughter.

The idea is to stay somewhere in Sydney for a few weeks, then - if I have enough cash

left, to buy a motorhome and travel on up and around, photographing old colonial

    homes.

We both have UK and Oz passports, so we can work of course, and we don't have any

    time schedule restraints.

Can anyone suggest where we might stay cheaply while in Sydney?

Or if they know of a motorhome available?

    We'd appreciate any help.

    Thanks,

    Richard & Rachael

    Hi Guys,

    Welcome to the forum!

Depends on your budget for a camper van. Cheap ones can be bought at the Kings Cross markets in Sydney - backpacker type material but there can be some bargains! For more expensive ones, these sites may help:

    www.autotrader.com.au
    www.rvpoint.com.au
    and sydney.gumtree.com.au

Hope this helps.. I'm green with envy!

Thanks Tim, I reckon $15,000 will be the tops, so we're gonna have to compromise!
Has anyone got a couple of rooms in Sydney that we could rent reasonably for a couple of weeks while we're searching for the motorhome?
    Cheers,
    Richard

Theres always backpackers - they can be quite good!

As for camper vanes what are you looking for.. something fancy, 4wd ot van? $15 should get you something fairly good, nothing too fancy but reliable!
