Public Sector Workers - Work Harder or get Sacked

NSW Premier Barry O'Farrell has defended his government's decision to get rid of thousands of public servants, saying they must work harder if they want to keep their jobs.

Handing down his budget yesterday, Treasure Mike Baird said slashing 2500 public service jobs a year for the next four years would save the government $2.2 billion.

Mr O'Farrell also defended his government's decision to cut more than $1 billion in government services without specifying where the cuts will be made.

Sounds about right, public sector workers get screwed wherever they live...just like the good old nhs, hit the ground staff...well without those staff the country would grind to a halt...I have to say was treated better in the public hospital sector in Perth than in the nhs in UK. The organisation is on its knees with little regard for those propping it up....
