Unfortunately with the mining sector being the only part of the economy booming and it only accounting for around 10% overall the majority of employers are finding times very tough and this is shown in the recent rise in unemployment.

Gee thats funny, my old man is looking for a new job, he only started last week, hes applied for 4 and had 4 interviews...and hes being choosy. Depends how much you want to work wherever you are...theres plenty of jobs and plenty of lazy barstewards too

Some States and areas are doing better than others of course. The problem seems to be that many of the jobs being created are part time or temporary. This belief the economy is booming is just so far short of the mark it's not funny. At what point does the rate start affecting immigration policy I wonder ?

Think it depends what kind of job you are looking for.
Yesterday I went off to Central after an appointment in town to get a cuppa, behind me at the table were two guys in business suits one of which was having an interview, now this is no exaggeration every other word was err, err, err, I nearly got up and told him if he kept saying err he wouldn't err get the job lol x Anyway the guy then says to him, what achievements have you to which he answered "I have been to all the major cities in Oz" the employer said what working, and he replied "no when I was a baby"
Guess what... he got the blinkin job, how I have no idea
