TAXPAYERS are paying thousands of dollars for public servants to fingerpaint and play with Barbie dolls at laughter courses. Bureaucrats from the federal Department of Human Services and Centrelink have contracted Laughter Works Australia to teach their staff interactive laughter exercises, games and play.
Workers are encouraged to bond with colleagues through word games, dressing up in silly outfits and playing with balloon animals.
Laughter Works Australia owner and director Bronwen Williams said such departments as Human Services - which includes Centrelink and Medicare - had used her services to help their workers relax from the stress of their jobs.
