    Not one thing really.

Being able to do a "Seachange" with our lives was the most important.

Absolutely! We came for a complete lifestyle change and we sure as hell got it! We see each other so much more than we ever did in the UK as we are both shift workers. Just to achieve that was good enough for me! Add in all the good mates that we have made and the settled and calm lifestyle that we have (compared to London life!) and I am ok with Oz!

I really feel as if we've been able to take a step back from all the stressors here (funny really as we're doing all the same stuff, same bills etc.,), but the pace of life here has made us feel much more relaxed. I would have swore that we spent time together as a family at home - but looking back we were probably all in different rooms of the house. The family room is just that - I think we're closer as a family and are really enjoying each others company .... Thank You Oz

As an aside, I know that we, Cal and Jo all settled very quickly and love our lives here, and maybe this is just me... but do you ever feel a bit guilty, I'm sure people don't believe we're happy.

I actually feel with some of my rellies that I dont want to mention anything about Australia as I feel that they think "we`re rubbing it in". Does that make sense???? A particular member of my family always starts the conversation with "how is life in paradise then? Still like it?". You just know that it is said in a certain way!!!
Funnily enough my Nan was one of our driving forces. She wanted to know EVERYTHING about here and used to tell me off when I wrote to her that I had talked to much about me and hadnt told her anything about Mark and his job!!!

I dont feel guilty because we have worked our balls off to make a success of our new lives and as awful as its gonna sound i really struggle sympathising with those who cant settle ,well more the ones that dont seem to try.
I think there are many good things about moving here for us,the main advantages is the time we now spend as a family, the closer it as brought us all together,a house i couldnt have dreamed of owning in the uk but more than anything ,all four of us are happier!!

It was just a post on PIO the other day suggesting that the people who say they liked being in oz weren't being genuine (at least that's how I read it). may be I was having a sensitive moment (but I don't think so).

Nigels Gran was so excited that we were coming to Aus, she died the month before we left - she'd have been on the plane already I'm sure had she still been alive.

Definately NOT a sensitive moment! I read that post too and I was offended about how that was put and suggested!
