Thread: Adive needed - PLEASE!

I am not sure where to start really, my husband and I live in UK with our 2 children (7 and 3) and want to start the process of hopefully moving to Canada. My husband is Ex forces (Parachute Regiment) and is currently working for the British Embassy out in Afghanistan working as a Close protection officer - this takes him away for 2 months at a time and then only home for 3 weeks - which is hard for us all.
I have booked tickets for the Emigrate show in October and we are interested in looking at B Columbia as a place to live. It's all very daunting and I am finding it hard to know where to start!!
We want to live in a quiet area - although not too quiet and need to think about schooling etc. It would seem, by the points system we would need for my husband to have a job offer before we go to enable us to go, he is interested in joining the police force.
I would love any advice from anyone.

I wish I could give you some advice. I came here over 50 yrs. ago and had to have a definite job to go to Your husband would probably have to be prepared to take some training to be a police officer.In my area of expertise, each Province, had its own rules and regulations, usually entailing more courses. I'm sure there are people here who can help you more than this. In any case 'best of luck', DO NOT GIVE UP!!

Yes, thanks for that - like I said, it's all a bit mind boggling at the minute and seems a mammoth task ahead - we both want this so much though so will not give up no! Many Thanks
