Well done Liz, you are indeed a little Gem.

And Pumpkin, i'm glad youv'e set the ball rolling yourself now instead of waiting on the agents to pull their fingers out.

Now lets hope things go from bad to good, keep in touch and let us know won't you.

    Good Luck for the future.

Do you know anything about this body? It's really quite frustrating because we have wasted about 2 months with the consultants where they kept giving us excuses every week why the docs hadn't gone off. Alas, we have seen the light and will be sending them off ourselves tomorrow.

If you know of anyone who has been through this process or is working as an AC Technician, especially in Alberta, any advice/guidance would be much appreciated.

Sorry I can't help you with this one. Try Googling the name and see what comes up.

    Best Wishes ,

Try looking in, or on the Emigrate magazine website its full of info, & if you can't find what your looking for drop them an email, they're pretty helpful.

    Hi Pumpkin ( aka m--b),

Was hoping to hear from you in this forum. How are things going with the DIYS method ? Hope things are going well. Please keep us up to date with your progress ----- we really do care!

I was looking for an icon that said 'Yes' , I'm sure there used to be one. As an other option

    Hi Liz (aka Largo),

How are you? no I haven't forgotten about but haven't really had any news to report yet. We sent the docs off to the Alberta Apprenticeship & Industry Training assessment body and they received on Monday last. Hoping that they will deal with pretty pronto so we will know where we stand. Asked about the Independent PR form which the agents sent to us on two other sites ...but only one person said that everyone was now using the one on the government website. We decided not to use in the end and used the one on the government website instead. Sent docs off to CIO this am...again hoping that it will be ok'd and we are asked to send docs to visa office....will let you know how both processes progress. I'm going to email the immigration visa section in jamaica and ask if the form is still used because if the PR form that we submittted is rejected it would be nice to know that there is an alternative. We are seriously looking for jobs now..the guy at the AAIT body told me that we should start looking for jobs so I'm taking that as a good sign...just with all the talk about LMOs being rejected trying not to let this get us down. There are loads of jobs in my husband's profession so hopefully we will get a break. We are going to do a reccie trip in either September/October and meet the employers personally and also get a feel for the area....I know we will love it...I would like in wood hut as long as I'm there. We could have got additional points if they allowed first cousins as I have one living in Toronto and she is an Canadian citizen..in fact I put her details on my husband's visitor visa application and it was granted so hopefully if they look at this file it might increase our chances a little.

I am amazed when I read some of the posts of people who have no jobs at all but have got PR and have just decided to go for it...you really have to admire that kind of courage...I'm like that so we are going to go for it too.

I think this has turned into an epistle so I'll cut it short...will be in touch
