Hi chieftain and welcome!
Hi Cheiftain and welcome to BritsAbroad!
Hi chieftan, Have alook on emigrate2 they have jobs on there and they are looking for lorry drivers. Good luck.A friend of ours he got a job from there. We too are looking to move over to canada.
Hi Cheiftain
Welcome to BA - sorry I took while to reply but with Christmas and digging out of 8 ft snow drifts along with the worst 3 day snow storm I have ever seen.
Take a look at www.canada.org.uk and have a good walk around the site. You might find applying for a job over here is the quickest route and arriving on a temp work permit. Then see how you like it and lodge your permenent residency if you take to Canadian life. It is a fantastic part of the world to live but the credit crunch is hitting hard esp where we are in Ontario which is the manufacturing hub. Alberta is suffering on the collapse of oil prices but British Columbia is hanging in due to 2010 winter games. Its no easy ride but lots of us have done the jump and not many have gone back so good luck and let us know if you have any more questions.
PS - some use a immigration lawyer and some dont. It costs money and you have to gather all your documentation so consider doing it yourself but this is not for everyone. All you need to know is on web site given.
Regards
Andy + Team Canada
Thanks Andy. Wish we had some of your snow
over here, just 2c today but dry and sunny.
