Thread: Maybe moving to Ft McMurray

Currently living in Louisiana, considering a move to Ft McMurray. Please let me know what it is like up there. Apart from the obvious temperature shift, I don't know anything about the area. Please help! Am rather anxious at the prospect of leaving my comfortable life in La to go to the great white north. Have 2 kids in private school (elementary) - what options for private ed are there? Anything would be better than what I know now. Thanks for reading and replying!

Hi - I'm afraid I dont know much about Fort McMurray other than there's lots of jobs in gas and oil but I'm sure someone will know and post on here. Good luck if you go

Fort McMurray is a very expensive place to live - nothing to rent, anything for sale costs a lot. Also, pretty rough town. Mostly oil sands work. Major drug problems. Strongly advise you to look elsewhere.
