Idea newbie with an important query

Hiya, I am new to this site and I have an important question to ask.
My husband is looking for work in canada as a hgv driver. The main bugbear we have is that he is asthmatic and is taking inhalers to control it. Even though he hasn't had an attack in over 15 years he is still on medication. Does anyone know how he would be able to obtain his inhalers whilst 'on the road'. Can you just walk into a pharmacy and buy them or is it like in UK where you have to obtain a prescription first. Has anyone been, or is, in this situation? At the moment it is a big worry for him.
Thanks in advance to any help. Deb :v_SPIN:

    Hi Deb,
You would need a prescription. Unless your husband is going to be away for weeks on end, I don't see a problem. You could probably get a prescription with multiple 'repeats', if you explained the situation to the doctor issuing the prescription. You could always carry a spare in case you ran out. In an emergency you could take the inhaler to a drug store, explain the situation and they could phone your home drug store , to verify you had at least one repeat left, and would likely supply one. Otherwise, there are 'walk-in clinics' where you could get a new prescription.
Used inhalers for years, don't need to now. Never had a problem -- they used to last for ages.
