    POSSIBLE PROBLEM AT PoE

    hi everyone,
i may have a problem with my arrival in calgary and would appreciate any help available from forum members.
basically i intend to apply for my twp at the airport, i have a job offer and lmo in the name i go by which is "andy". but on my passport i am called "andrew". is this likely to be an issue or would the immigration officer use a bit of common sense. apologies if this is a stupid question, just trying to get organised and don't want to stumble at the final hurdle.
    thanks

    Hi Andy

Just to put your mind at rest my work permit had not even been approved by the LMO when our flight was due but because they knew it was in the system and we were on a one way flight they let us board at Manchester. At Toronto they issued me with a visitors visa even though we had the cat and dogs with us which sort of made it look it more permanent than that, but it was for 6 months which gave us plenty of time to sort everything out. We had all paperwork available like job offer and where we were staying which also helped.
I know its a different province but you should be fine and all the best of luck to you. Let us know how it goes.

Could be wrong but I believe I was the first Andy on here 23 07 2008 so I'm not going to use my middle name (Kevin) LOL (no offence to any Kevins)

Never liked the name Andrew it always seems too formal.
Andy on the other hand sounds more friendly and fun.
Sorry no offence to anyone that wants to call themselves
    Andrew, thats just my opinion...
