Whoa !!... am I in Canada or Australia !!

Well in the full swing of a northern hemisphere summer now... and it is turning out to be a scorcher !!.

We are in the midst of a heatwave in Southern Ontario.... predicted highs for this week mid to high 30's not counting in the humidity.... looks like we could go over the mid 40's with the humidex.

It often makes me laugh when people say that they wouldn't emigrate to Canada due to the weather. Like anywhere, where you pick to live will determine whether the climate is right for you or not.

I actually think it is hotter here than it was in Perth.... okay actual temps might not be as high, however, we do have high humidity here, often at 80% or more in the summer, which makes it feel hotter than it is !!

Ok I will admit that we do get cold snowy winters, but I actually enjoy seeing the 4 seasons. It was great to see lush green grass this spring after the snow melted, the grass is getting more brown each day, now that summer has hit and it has been very dry (again reminds me of Perth in summer lol), but then I know in the fall, things will green up again, and have warm days and cool nights... and then back to winter... just in time for Christmas.

So come on you poms... don't dismiss Canada... it is not cold 12 months a year LOL !!

    Thanks Fiona,

We are all good... been busy... we just brought a house in Kitchener, which is the city we lived in prior to moving to Australia. Luckily for us it has a inground pool.... but on the bad side... we don't move in until Sept 1st.... so probably won't get much use of it this year. House prices are so much cheaper here as well. We paid $246,000.00 for a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom bungalow with a walk-out basement. So looking forward to having my own house again after renting and living with rellies for the past 3 years.

Hope things are well for you and your family... glad you are enjoying Perth still.... I still miss Australia at times... but am very happy to be home again !!

Lovely to see you back Karen, you have been missed. I loved Canada, I remember travelling from Burlington to Niagara Falls it was lovely and sunny in Burlington and was snowing at Niagara.
What I did like about Canada was that everything didn't stop for a bit of snow, they were all very well organised.
