Great stuff. Do you live in Crete all the time now? We're kind of thinking should we rent the first 8 months to get a feel for the place. Having said that we have had many holidays in Crete and I did live there in the early eighties for about 8months. i was a Thomson Holiday Rep. Did you just dive in and buy straight away? :-)

The picture at the top by my name is a painting, done by my Mother in Law, that is the view when we sit on our roof. Mochlos Bay. Crete has more then lived up to our expectations. we have been visiting for eight years and decided this is where we want to live. If you put Mochlos into Google search you will get that same view. we chose not to live with Brits, no offence, we wanted to live with the Cretan people. They are fantastic very friendly and generous. Our neighbours are unbelievable. we are freinds with some brits and two Australians but we dont live in each others pockets. Have coffee etc. renting for a while can be a good idea of course. we sold up and moved we went on our gut feeling, you only get one life as they say.
We have no regrets, family are staying with us in July and august so that side is no problem.
