Hi All
this is my first post so i hope it is in the right place :embarrassed: just let me know if it is not and i will retry

I have just been on holiday to cyprus / paphos - in the coral bay area

my wife and me absolutley loved it - people where very friendly and the cost of living seemed reasonable once you got away from the local shops and into the biger supermarkets.

We loved it that much that we are concidering living out there.
starting with myself just to see what the prospects are and find somewhere to live.
I have my own property in the UK and i have been told that it would be very difficult to earn the money to keep a house going in the UK as well as make a living in cyprus

so if anyone can help with some advice regarding work in the painting and decorating trade and the best areas to live / rent and any other advice anyone can chip in with, i would be very greatfull

Welcome to the Forum Mr Guiness, i have a place in Turkey, thought about Cyprus but way too expensive. Not sure if there is anyone that can give you any advice here but there maybe a Cypriot Forum that you could ask questions on.

Hi all and thanks for the welcome

would i be right in thinking that there is not many (if any at all) brits living in cyprus that have joined BritsAbroad :no:

Maybe someone will come along soon, in the mean time lets see if i can get a picture of the places and areas that some of you live that do belong to the BritsAbroad furum and what you think / any regrets

just for fun by the way to pass a bit of time waiting for a brit in cyprus to arrive.

Many thanks for your welcome to Brits Abroad... and it is Nice to find a Friendly New forum..

Cyprus is a Fantastic country... like any where in the world it has it's problems.. But in general it is the Best place that I have found in my Life which spans 30 plus years living there for the majority of my time..
I am sure that Mick will come back with some questions that he will have..

I have just spent the last hour trying to Negotiate the site... I can not figure how to put on an avatur.. please can you tell me how to do it..

Cyprus is my real Home after so many years there... UK is OK but with a Big B... it now Has so many Problems in so many ways,,,

Must admit never been to OZ... but I am sure it is Fantastic as friends who live there tell me...

Re time zones:

At the present time I am in UK not Cyprus...

Cyprus is 2 hours in front of UK so 7 hours behind you..

I must admit I forgot about the difference in Times.. Silly me getting old Mee thinks but now I know..
