Scotland the Drug Capital of the World

    Surely this can't be right??

Scotland drug capital of the world
    Highest criminal activity per person
Six times higher than rest of world

SCOTLAND is the drug crime capital of the world, according to a United Nations report.
The study found Scottish junkies and dealers committed more offences per head of population that any other nation.
The figure is double the rate in England and Wales - and six times higher than the rest of the world's average.
And it dwarfs nations of similar sizes - such as Norway, Ireland and Denmark.
The research by the UN's Office on Drugs and Crime compared narcotics criminal activity, abuse and possession across over 70 countries.
Scotland was top with 656 drug offences per 100,000 - followed by Iran with 619, Spain (573) and the U.S. (497).
Anti-drug campaigner Alistair Ramsay blasted the findings, saying: "We need a proper co-ordinated strategy across the board."
Labour's justice spokesman Richard Baker said: "The SNP just aren't doing enough. It is unforgivable."
Tory leader Annabel Goldie added: "We must invest in restoring broken lives."

A Scottish Government spokesman said it was investing record amounts in justice.

I can believe it. Walking around London you see quite a few junkies and tramps with some disgusting trouser stains and unfortunately amongst these the Scottish accent is most common.

Yeah i can believe it too, we are friends with a couple of Scottish familys and they say some areas are reallyyyyyy bad. On the flip side there are some lovely areas and little islands there. Our friends live on the Isle of Rothesay ,a short ferry ride across and its like a different world, a stunning area with great friendly people.

    I can believe it.

The population of Scotland is far less than somewhere such as Mexico or wherever. So these stats are a bit misleading, because I am sure that South America is quite drug and crime ridden. But because of the far larger populations in the South America, the crime per head statistic seems a bit silly. Just give us numbers, not per head. GAAWWWDDD!

The only relevant statistics are per capita and I am surprised that both North and South America arent ahead of Scotland.

Who'd be surprised at anyone for wanting to get out of their head, if they lived in a country that has as little to do in the Winter months as Scotland has. There's a reason that Alaska and Canada has high drug use.
