      Spanish Stress

A woman who was stabbed to death in Barcelona on Monday became Spain’s third victim of domestic violence within the space of 48 hours. It happened in the Bolivian couple’s flat in the Eixample district of the city at around midday on Monday, and it’s understood that the woman’s partner is now in a critical condition in hospital after stabbing himself with the same knife in the neck and the stomach.

The two other fatalities were in Zaragoza and the Basque Country on Sunday.

In Zaragoza, a 30 year old man from Ecuador is under arrest in connection with the murder of his 28 year old partner who was found strangled at the couple’s flat in the city on Sunday. A relative had contacted police after the couple’s son said his father had left the flat after he had heard his parents arguing, and he was worried about his mother’s health.

In the second case, a 55 year old woman and her daughter were both attacked as they were getting into a taxi in Hernani, Guipúzcoa, at 5.30 on Sunday morning. The mother died at the scene while her daughter is recovering from her stab wounds at the Donostia Hospital in San Sebastián.

The suspect is the mother’s ex partner, who was arrested later on Sunday, and is reported to have a previous record of domestic violence.

These latest fatalities bring the number of domestic violence deaths in Spain so far this year up to 32.

I really cant understand how men can hit women, I know that the men can suffer domestic violence as well, but come on is there any need.
