Thread: Thinking of moving to Delhi

Hi all
I'd be grateful for any advice you can give on living in Delhi. Husband and I thinking of moving out there with my work. So some key questions are:
- Will he be able to get a working Visa, and how easy is it to find work (he is currently a civil servant in UK, mainly IT)
- What is the tax situation for people staying on a working visa?
- what type / standard of accommodation can we expect?
- We survive on steak and alcohol in UK - from what I've read that means India is not the right place to be????!!!
- What is the weather really like there?

Can only answer a few from my jaunts to india...

Don't think you'd be able to get a wrok visa from India - a standard De-Facto is probably more likely!

Alchohol is wildly available - with some decent beers! The locals spirits can be a bit hit and miss, but they do import all others.!
Accomodation - Depends on what you are looking for! Whats the budget?
Weather - Nice in the off season i.e. dry. The wet can be very hot, humind and dare I say it miserable!
