      Hi and welcome :)

What is your occupation/speciality? what qualifications do you have? How many years of experience? TBH sending 500 copies of your resume (it's not called a CV in the US, so make sure you amend that) is nothing compared to how many some have to send, think thousands! It really depends on your speciality, the more specialised the job, the more chance you have getting a sponsorship. It's not a great time of year to be looking for work and visa sponsorship as the next time a company can apply is April 1st 2014 for an October 1st 2014 start. Most companies won't wait a year before someone can start unless they are extra extra special. Saying that for to qualify for sponsorship you must have a minimum of a bachelors degree, the company has to prove that there is no USC to do the job....etc.

By agent to you mean employment agency? Employment agencies are 99.9% likely to just bin the resume once they realise the person isn't in the US or a resident. People have more look applying directly with a company and then they only have a slim chance.

I was thinking more of a migrant agent to get things started as , as you say there is practically no chance of being offered a job at this stage even if your highly skilled.........

We don't have migrant agents. We do however have people who call themselves 'immigration specialists', they are con artists, lie about how to get a visa and just take your money.

Hmmm! it's not that easy to find a job elsewhere anymore, even when you are in your own country. How much more if you're not in the country where you want to get a job?

Common sense is not a gift, It's a punishment.
Because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it!
