Hi Ferret, Welcome to the forum, I would have thought being RAF trained would be enough to get you in, you must have plenty of experience?

Hi Ktee ... yes plenty of experience, over 30 yrs on mil jet's, plus city and guilds pt 1 and 2 in areo engineering, but it's getting them crossed over to something the state's will accept, plus I have skills in other area's but again it's having the proof.
Could you not do a recognition of prior learning, not sure how other countries work but if you have the experience you can apply for an RPL and gain a qualification without doing the course
Thanks for info, will have to do some research into how to go about that, and find out what I need to get to be able to do that
You'll have to get transcripts of your qualifications, that'd probably be the only way that your military qualifications would be recognised. Usually it's a bit costly, and you'll need to look into state requirements. It'll take some phone calling and emails. I'm not aware of how RAF qualifications transcribe into ones recognised by Texas State. Good luck though. :)
Unfortunately there are a shortage of those kind of low paying jobs since the recession.
Didn't know that aircraft engineer was a low paying job, or am I missing something here, I do have a written record of my work in the RAF, plus certs of all my qualifications.
