moving to America by freight ship

      Hi all

Has anyone had experience of moving abroad traveling on the same ship as your possessions? I will have about 1/2 a container of household and personal items to ship from UK to America and a friend suggested that me traveling on the same container ship might be worth looking into!!

I have found a couple of container 'cruise' ships, and it certainly is tempting - obviously takes awhile to get there and I will have to take that into account, but it would be like having a holiday on the way. But it seems a lot to sort out, so would have to look into it carefully and posting here is my first step!!

Any experience, either direct or 'a friend of a friend did it', will be helpful, even experience of being on a cruise holiday on a container ship will be interesting.

      Cheers

Never heard of anyone doing it to move here, but some people I knew did it for a holiday once.
Take the plane - business class, or better still, take the QM2 and do it in style. amd let the container follow on.

Oh - if I could afford QM2 I so would do that!! The more I plan for this move, the more complicated it gets and the more money I seem to need

But it will be worth it in the end, and as they say - a change is as good as a rest and I would hate a boring life

      Cheers
