    Australian Frog Identification

    Hoping Chris may be able to help with this, as anyone an idea what type of frog this is?

    Give up with your cane toads will you, it was found in the middle of the outback so I aint going to kill it because we are home now, it was such a cutie.

    Chris the frog (NOT Toad) had orange spots you can't really see them on the photo but I don't think it was a cane toad,

    Kate, I'm sorry but there is no doubt it is a Cane Toad, they are very easy to identify. They can have red or orange spots especially as toadlets but tend to be a uniform brown as adults but can even be khaki green. I do agree with you, they are cute and I really like them but I kill every one I see because of my love of native wildlife. It's not our fault they are here but it is up to us to try to minimize the damage they do.

    I agree but it doesn't look anything like a Spotted Marsh Frog I'm afraid.
