    The Barefoot Saga

Lets put this baby to bed!!
So is it OK or not?

The "fors" will argue that its just as hygienic as shoes because what ever you get on your feet you would have got on your shoe anyway so whats the difference?
My opinion is if its on the beach or grass its fine but anywhere else (appart from at home) then is its plain wrong! I recall ausse blokes coming out of shopping centre toilets bare foot!!! I don't want to harp on about australia but lets be honest its epidemic there and i haven't been to Africa. For me its thought of stepping where some hairy ar53d trucker has just gobbed up or the fag buts and dog poo. At least with shoes, if you think you may have stepped in something nasty you can take them off at your front door.
What about safety? I was watching that pretty blond girl from blue peter helping some little african boy get some water from a well in his village in somalia and he stepped on a sharp object and she had to give him a piggy back home! wast of a journey and a waste of water all because he wasn't wearing shoes!
Back to hygiene. think of all the little nicks and cuts you must get walking barefoot, then you walk through where some tramp has just peed... nice!!
This is my opinion so those in aus please don't be offended. To me the aussie culture encourages the males to continually prove their masculinity, the first born male will be made to walk bare foot accross the garden over bindi weeds and when he can do it without showing any signs of pain his shoes will be ceremoniously cremated.

I havent got an issue with it ,, in the RIGHT place.
Bare feet should not be allowed in shops and i have noticed signs in lots of places stating just that (mainly food shops/ cafe's) ,shame its not made an official rule.
As for anywere else, its up to who ever is doing it, my littlest often plays in the garden barefoot, walks from the car park to the beach barefoot etc etc, and i have no issue with it. I wouldnt however let her come shopping barefoot or go out for tea etc..

Its better than being bare arsed like some of the trollops you see walking around.... Feet were made to be naked. I love being barefoot, Its all about personal choice. They go on about smokers rights...now you can even take a stroll without your shoes on without being villified, mad mad world I tell ya...

    what does vilified mean?

Of course its personal choice... doesn't make it right though (IMO).

beach, park, garden.. OK but petrol garages, shops, car parks NO!!! its wrong!!! the only thing hard about it is the skin on your bunion covered feet!

Stop it now! Next you'll be telling me you go shopping in your nighty

I hardly ever wear shows at home, my feet are like leather and practically immune to everything. I NEVER go barefoot at shops etc, its just too bogan for me.

We are soon going to start the wet season up here, now when it rains it rains, not just a little bit of spitting, but you are drenched from head to toe in less than 5 seconds, because of this I have advised the kids that when they come out of school if it is bucketing it down they have to take off their school shoes and socks and walk to the car barefooted (the car park is a 10 min walk) the reason being is that I can dry their uniform but school shoes it takes days and its either they take them off or go to school in wet shoes the following day.
