    Christmas Dinners of the World

What are you having for your Xmas Dinner? As an expat do you do the traditional turkey job or do you adopt the local cuisine? I'm having a full traditional turkey dinner this year after a few years sampling the Aussie style cold buffet.

I'm still thinking on this to be honest, after just doing a BBQ and literally melting I'm wondering if we should opt out of the traditional christmas dinner and either go out for dinner or have a cold spread.

I can't decide. Nearly bought a frozen turkey today but seem so expensive! Are they expensive in the UK, I cant remember at all.....Might do beef and turkey and pre prepare all the veggies the day before (yeah right) Im full of good intentions. I hope Santa has something nice for me in his sack, Ive been a good girl this year.

    Hi Fi,

Well it is back to traditional turkey with sausage meat stuffing, roast potatoes, brussel sprouts, carrots and corn, followed by a long nap afterwards. As I sit here writing this a gentle light snow is falling... ah its beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

I tried the tradtional christmas meal in Australia, and all it did was make me sad !!... it was too bloody hot to cook the turkey during the day, so I did a turkey breast and cooked it the night before, but it just wasn't the same as cooking a full turkey in the oven, and having that lovey smell waft through the house !!

To all my Oz friends enjoy your Christmas, but I am so looking forward to my snowy white christmas here in Canada this year !!

I know its traditional and all that but turkey for me has to be the most over-rated meat ever. I chose the steak yesterday at the Greek Taverna.
I love a nice ham at xmas but a bit sick of it now, got 6 of them off the butcher for £5 each and its been ham with everything.
