    community charge while abroad

I will soon be leaving the UK to live and work abroad and have no plans return to or visit the UK. I have a property in London which will be rented out, so who would be liable to pay the community charge, myself or the tenent.
And if the property lies empty for any length of time is community charge liable to be paid at all? Hoping someone has been in this situation and can clue me up

I think the tenant would be liable to pay the community charge as the charge is for living in that community. If nobody lives in the property then there is no charge.
Give your local council a quick ring to check though but im sure thats right.
So where are you off to ryvra?
