That's the thing though, how do you prove 101% that someone is guilty and hasn't been set up.

Yes, society is getting more and more violent, using a gun or knife is a common option with no concern with the coseqences, if proven beyond doubt, I am all for the death penalty, and with todays technology, proof is easier to establish
So sad to see England in the state it is.

Would you be prepared to flick that switch? Give that lethal injection?

OMG im agreeing with Chris,,lol, but as he said if there is no doubt they committed the crime, and of course it was serious enough, then yes i would vote for the death penalty. I do think they should go to jail for 12 mths and the case be reviewed a second time by different court/judges but the way DNA is advancing ,it leaves a very slim chance of doubt.

And if it was someone who had seriously harmed /murdered a member of my family or close friend then yes i could push the button.

I think when you personalise it emotions cloud your original judgement, If somebody hurt one of my kids I would personally do them serious damage. But...fundamentally Im against it. I dont believe its our choice to decide when and where another human being should die. Its a grey issue.

But the criminal has took it upon his self to judge what the outcome of his victim was. It isnt something that should be done on a whim but when jails are bulging at the seams then IMO all prooven serial murderers should recieve the death penalty.

Don't be so surprised Cal, I am an agreeable person when you get to know me
I would have no problem at all pushing the button, I am very pragmatic about these sorts of things and I can't see the sense in spending a huge amount of money on keeping someone in jail often for the term of their natural life. It's not like even if they get out of jail later in life they will be a worthwhile citizen.
