How many hours sleep do you need?

I need a good 8 to 9 hours ideally but will happily sleep for 10 or 11 given half the chance...Im useless on less than 7.

I wish I could cope with less as it gets really boring going to bed before midnight at the weekend....then I cant get up! Id love to be a lark....the mornings are the best part of the day..shame I rarely see it!

What are you lark or owl? Im just lazy. I love my bed.

Normally, I would sleep for about 8 hours.

But recently (past few months) I have been getting, on average, 10-12 hours sleep a week.

I am surprised that I have been able to function properly. But I have. Scary thing is, I am now sort of used to it.

No way can I function on less than 9 hours sleep a night but doesn't seem to matter what time I slumber I still wake up around 6.30/7.00 and I hate it. My usual sleep pattern is going to bed around 9ish (what a BOF is that?) and getting up around 6ish. I love to zzzzzzzzzzzz early and wake up early. Can't sleep in above 8 in morning. I get so frustrated at having to go to bed so early though, makes me feel I have no bloody life

I tend to work until around 2am and then sleep in until 10am, although I have had a guest the past few days so have been waking up at 7am, it's a total shock to my system and I feel exhausted. When I worked in the vet clinic I use to set off to the city at 3.30am and get home at 18:30 and felt more awake.

I need at least 8 hours to be fully functioning, ideally 9 or 10. I really believe that some people need more sleep than others- my OH only needs about 6 hours a night and he doesn't understand why I enjoy a lie-in or get grouchy when I don't get enough! I'm an owl though- go to bed late and get up late ideally. I find working a regular 9-5 job 5 days a week very difficult!!
