Thread: Photography lessons

This is margaret River, I took this...I just point and click, have no idea what Im doing....

Sounds just like me, although I love taking macro, close up shots and Rob hates them.

Pete took these....the top one is just another sunset shot I suppose but I really like the peacelily shot

This shot is very over exposed to the point the sky and trees are indistinguishable from each other and the colours are washed out. The problem is that under the trees would have been quite dark compared to the sky so the camera tries to compensate and lets more light in but by doing that it washes out the whole top part of the shot.

So how could I have made it better?

How do I do better close ups.............Landscapes are easier as camera does most of the work just find difficulty with close ups ..help please!.
