thats the problem with carpets its the keeping clean of them, I prefer wooden floors with rugs they look great imo but hey we all have different tastes so its no probs eh!

Yes wooden floors and rugs are nice but expensive to lay a quality floor, cheaper to carpet. I would choose polished boards and rugs too if money no object, but maybe a lovely fluffy shagpile in the boudoir

Being a bit of a chav, i thought it would be great to have a lovely light cream carpet in me house with a new leather suite, a recliner to watch me huge plasma and me sister came over to see it all from where she lived 15 miles away and as usual it was piddling it doen in the uk and i asked her to take her shoes off because i didn't want her wet shoes on me new cream carpet and she said no, i said don't come in then and she didn't and hasn't been back and that was 4 years ago.

I was grouting the huge living room on the job i'm working on yesterday and i laid a roll of protective stuff that painters use right accross the newly finished floor and the dopey electrician just put all there cables and tools all over it. I explained that it was to walk on and just got the usual shrug then i put a grate thing by the front door to wipe their feet on but they just stepped over it!!!

I might just ask them to walk away from my company!

Do you have house rules? Do you make people turn off their mobile phones before they can enter? Yess it actually does happen believe it or not.

Me, I don't really care - leave your shoes on and your phones -I don't care.
    What about you?
I don't allow smoking inside my house - that's probably the only thing I insist on

No we don't either, they are free to smoke outside on the balcony or round the pool but not indoors.
