      Room temperature > 24c a health risk?

Was browsing the BBC website earlier today and started reading an article about how the average temperate of UK homes is increasing (I know that doesn't exactly sound thrilling reading:eek:) - article here - BBC News - How warm is your home?

Anyway, the bit that caught my eye (given that I'm now living in the tropical north) was a table showing Room temperature v health risk show below.

      • 18-21C - comfortable temperature
      • 9-12 or 24+C: Risk of stroke and heart attack
      • 21-24C or 16-18C - increasing discomfort
      • 12-16C - risk of respiratory disease
      • Less than 9C - risk of hypothermia

Specifically, a room temperature of 24+C puts you at risk of stroke and heart attack? Got to admit, never heard that one before.

I never thought a room temp of 24 would feel so beautifully cool...but after 38 outside, it does. Cant be bad for you

Well I never. I understand the cold one but is the heat because you are exhausted quicker? Any doctors out there or someone with a brain, remember I am blonde ;)
