    Watching UK TV

    Hi

I have been trying to view British TV online with no success, it appears that the likes of I Player block you from outside of the UK, Is there any way around this?

Hey and welcome to the forum :)

Thankfully there are a few different options to get around iplayer's blocking people from outside the UK.
Personally, I use identity cloaker (identitycloaker.com) and use the UK based proxy if I want to watch iplayer. I don't use it for tv that often, but it's always worked well for me. You have to pay for it, but you download the little programme and if you don't want to watch tv on the computer screen (which i don't) then you just wifi it to your tv through your router and straight to your wii- xbox360, playstation3 or a blueray player- (if you dont have one - get one ;) ).
I dont get any noticeable delays with it either and it's a safe program - of course it always helps if you have a decent speed broadband or cable connection too :)

    Hope that helps!

    Here you go...

    How:

1 - Download firefox if you dont already have it.
2 - Download caught up plugin from here: http://chris.orr.me.uk/caughtup/xpi/caughtup-latest.xpi
    Backup Download: caughtup-latest.xpi
3 - Install the plugin and restart firefox.
4 - Go to ITV and look for a program you want to watch and load its page or channel.
5 - It will say NO you are not in UK. Dont worry
6 - At the bottom of firefox, you have a small TV which you must click.
7 - A new page will open and either you will get a download, which you open with media player or the program will auto play in your browser.

Very good - I connect my laptop to my main tv via the appropriate cable and all is good.
They have a good support service to help you set it up etc. AdTelly is Dublin based.
You basically set up another ISP - I am not computer literate but I get the gist of it.
I have not had any problems - touch wood.
