Why did you or why do you want to emigrate?

      Just wondered?

It never really crossed my mind until my husband asked if I would like to move to New York as he had been asked to interview for a job there. TBH I didn't think it would get as far as moving, not because I doubted my husband's ability but more I thought we wouldn't get a work visa. Then 3 months later we were moving! 18 months later and another job and we are still here, well in Florida now.

I wanted to travel ever since Miami vice was on the telly. Me and my best mate Reg had big ideas about driving across America but lasted 6 weeks and got as far as Texas, ran out of money and came home. We also had a dream of getting and ex army land-rover and driving to asia overland (never happened), I then done the backpacking thing - Aus, Thailand, Malaysia and loved it but when I emigrated to Australia as a "grown up" I hated it. I had a few years in Germany in the 90's but and loved it and Spain for 10 years (loved it too). Back in the UK now and now appreciate it much more.
