    Autumn in England

Is there anything more beautiful i ask?
Its a crisp blue sy here this morning but no sign of any autumn colours yet. I'm looking forward to seeing a full technicoloured English autumn soon.

This is ONE of my local parks (below) and can't wait to see what colours autumn will bring to it.

That looks beautiful, there is nothing nicer that seeing the trees changing colour although of course it does signal the arrival of 14 months of winter.

Before I moved to Perth I was lead to believe that there was no such thing as a proper Autumn in Perth but believe me there is! My work involves a lot of driving sometimes early in the morning, the best time to see some gorgeous blue skied autumnal/wintery scenes.

In brisbane there was only one colour and that was a dull yellowy brown. I asked in the garden centre if they had anything like bougainvillea to bring some colour to my back garden and he looked at me as if i had just insulted his first born and replied "we don't do foreign weeds", OK i said i'll have some of that yellowy brown stuff

The best thing about Autumn in the UK is that cold smoky smell to the air after dark...the promise of bonfire night (endless frickin fireworks from Aug to Nov) and Christmas on the way. Christmas here is nice but not Christmas as you know it. Christmas is supposed to be cold, the atmosphere just aint there when its 35d in the shade
