    Channel 10 d***heads

They just had a story on the Channel 10 news about British World Champion cliff diver Gary Hunt who is currently successfully defending his World title. It was quite a good short story UNTIL they showed some footage of him diving, one of the news morons commented ' He is an Englishman so not usually any good at sport' then the other idiot chimed in with ' and not usually keen on water either'.
It is this sort of thing that gives Australians their bad reputation overseas but ironically in this case it sort of backfired because England recently beat them in the cricket so does that make Australians even worse at sport ? Oh and the Rugby Union of course.
What makes them so insecure that they need to make this sort of stupid comment ?

We don't usually watch 10 with very good reason.

I am talking about mainstream news programs here not the gutter press.

Maybe the whole thing was said "tongue in cheek", or at least a little jokingly? I mean, "cliff diving"? Come on, it's not exactly a credible worldwide sporting event, is it? I've never even heard of it as a nationally recognised sport, more like something that people do on holiday late in the afternoon when they've had too many beers. Hardly worth getting wound up over.
If I was you I'd be quite content to think of England's last years "Ashes" victory .. afterall cricket's a "real" world sport, and I'd suspect that most Aussies would rather win that, than worry about some made up event.

Tbh ophie, I despair of Aussie tv, but in particular, all of the commercial channels. Utter, utter, utter, utter, utter, utter crap.
I hate it. It makes me angry, nauseated and verging on homicidal

It is absolute drivel, there are banal shows interupted every 5 minutes by 10 minutes of banal adverts. I particularly love it when they advertise some new Aussie show as being shown for the first time anywhere in the world, where else are they going to show it ?
