Thread: Have PMed you

Is it necessary to post "Have PMed you" on a public thread?
Surely the person will get a notification via email or via the notifications thing if they have received a PM.
I find it a bit rude, like whispering in public?
For me it really gets on my boobies

I have to admit to being guilty of this just recently, someone was asking about getting a visa with cancer I didn't want to discuss personal info on the forum but wanted people to know I had acknowledged the poster and she wasn't being ignored.

I know just what you mean Aldo, we'll discuss it further in that PM Ive just sent you.....

You're just jealous that nobody tells the rest of the world that they've just PM'd you, Aldo. ;)

I personally cant understand the fuss made about an innocent remark like "I will pm you" , my advice would be to ignore the post and carry on.

I know what he means, its something Ive noticed a time or two myself and thought...why did you bother to say that?, also guilty of doing same on occasion!

Aldo just likes to bring our attention to these things that he ponders on...plus its a threadstarter in these 'dry' days for the forum isnt it?
