Thumbs up Making our first Spanish Christmas feel more Christmassy

This year for the first time in 3 winters, we won’t be going back to the UK for Christmas. So I’ve taken to making this Christmas feel as normal as possible. We’re going to the UK at the end of next month and so will be getting all the presents, decorations and a real tree thanks to early availability from the Tree Warehouse in St Annes, Lancashire.

We ‘ve also ordered our 2 children a letter from Santa each (SantaLetter2011.com). At £6.99 including free delivery to our home in Ibiza they represent good value and I’m hoping will encourage the kids to get in the Christmas spirit which is something I feel is slightly different in Spain.

The OH is also considering a snow machine . Does anyone else have any tips for making Christmas in Ibiza feel … well more Christmassy?

    Brilliant ideas NMB,

We always have a real tree....copes surprisingly well with the Aussie summer heat...I think the evaporative air con helps...

A proper dinner is on the cards this year too.....

Its hard to get that same festive feel though when its warm....we just have to make the best of it and look forward to our sunny Jan while those back in the UK are starting the New Year with the usual gloom!
