Having a discussion with me mate sam the eagle in the kings head the other day and laughing at the sight of all the xmas jumpers, new watches and the reek of xmas aftershave and it felt a lot like the old Sunday lunchtime session of old. We was debating wether the new "all day" opening times have changed pubs for the better or worse. I like the fact that i can just say "right, kids driving me nuts, nuffin on the telly, i'm off up the pub for an hour (or 2). The down side is that you never know who will be there. Back in the day you could more or less guarantee all your mates would be there, now everyone seems to be just passing through - you dont get the same atmosphere, gentlemens corners where the gents all sup their gin and tonics, the tradesmens area - all muddy boots and f-ing and blinding, the ladies all sat at tables ,, bla bla bla...
What do you think?
