Thread: Shared Ownership?

Would you ever club together and purchase something. If you think if you all put money together you could buy an island, a huge house, a boat, caravan etc

Good idea...what should we buy? Ive got $500 to put in.....

No ,, been there , done that and when the other 'sharer' breaks/ damages something, it can all go wrong.

Somebody I know bought a house with a 'friend'. It went pear shaped and they were left with big financial headaches.

No way, it is just a disaster waiting to happen. This is sort of related and shows what can happen, a bloke recently lent 5 snakes to a family member on breeding loan, after the breeding season the bloke just refused to give them back and now doesn't answer phone calls or emails and it is getting very messy. I realise that in a joint ownership situation there would be contracts etc but there are so many ways this can go pear shaped.
