Thread: UK North v South

Just watching the weather on TV and yet again its sunny (one or two showers) in the south and hammering down oooop north.

I don't want to upset any northerners but its not surprising most carry a slight chip on the shoulder and want to get out.

It must make northerners feel even more hard done by this year with the Olympics going on in London, the main jubilee celebrations being in London.
I mean its not like Wills n Kate thought to them selves "ooooh lets get married in Birmingham" or the Queen said "one would like a river pageant on the mersey".
I'm wondering if northerners feel a little bitter towards southerners, (I probably would too) I'm also confused as to why more northerners dont move down south??

This is the new cable car in Greenwich (5 min from me) about £3.50 with my oyster.

'Its grim up North' wasn't a popular saying for no reason,,lol.. But chip or not i dont live there anymore so it can rain every day for me,,lol

I wouldnt say inner city up north is any more grim than inner city down south but there are beautiful areas coastal and country in both areas...I think its a myth perpetuated by the media to keep the wealth in London which in many parts is a filthy, polluted, over populated and dangerous city, Id rather shop in Birmingham given the choice, the bullring is excellent

No but we do have seals up North and at times it's sooooooooo cold we even have arctic penguins
