Great advice Aldo. Is the economic situation the same all over Spain and is it worse than the UK in your opinion? I think Loja might have bought a place there already actually. I suppose it depends on your occupation and the realistic chance of gaining employment

I can't comment on the whole of the uk but down here we seem to be coping ok. Its obvious we are in hard times but i don't see the mass unemployment and poverty that's reported in the media.
Spain isn't cheep any more (compared to the UK) and the greedy utility companies (like everywhere) are ripping people off therefore if you want a decent standard of living you need a steady income.

I'm lucky enough to own a property there too in Cuesta Blanca 40mins from Malaga so housing isn't an issue, I bought it in 2003!

I've tried Australia...........loved it, lived it, embraced it BUT I know it's not for me long term..........always knew that!

Just feel I need to give Spain a go now!

My Children are all split up now after 4 years in OZ, 2 back in the UK and 2 here so another good reason for moving!

Am I doing the right thing?

Hell I don't know BUT you never know if you never go!!!
