I really think that Del Potro is a real threat.. I don't think Roddick has won Wimbledon either, because of his comment to Federer during the Presentation Ceremony, where Roger made a sympathetic comment ( I think ), and Roddick interjected, something like, but you have already won --- numbers of Wimbledons .. Actually, I thought his comment was out of place, and would have been better left unsaid. But, though he has matured somewhat, he is still young.

Wow thats alot of money Liz, i never knew it was that much but do the women get equal pay to the men ?

If so i don't think they should because they only play the best of 3 sets & not 5.

I believe the prize money was increased this year, and yes, the women do receive the same as the men . Losers in the finals ( runners up ) got half as much i.e. 425,000 pounds sterling.

Nah not on BBC America, unfortunately, but through the cable company we'll get coverage on Fox Soccer, and on ESPN. So all is not lost.
I'll be back in England for the last 2 weeks of the competition too so that I can watch the matches with people that actually care a toss whether England win. Before you ask, yes, I timed it like that just in case we surprise everyone and get past the quarter final ;)

I haven't watched any of the run up, just been so busy with work, think i might have a look now and see what is happening, who's injured and what our chances are!!!! Have a good one and check out the View TV Abroad site when you get a chance!!! Have a good journey back and just hoping there is some UK footie for you to watch!!!!

Yeh I keep up with it pretty well thanks to the TV and all the stuff out there on the net. Fortunately the premiership stuff gets shown on cable here, even on a saturday morning live- so better than sky in the UK even. We even still have Setanta, which went bust in the UK, and has a lot of the tv rights to the football.
If Rooney's fit (and right now he should be) then we should do ok, personally I just can't see us making it past the semi's because we're up against some stiff competition and I'm not sure we're going to be able to compete- who knows it's possible, and if we do at least I'll be in the UK to watch it there on tv!

Re watching iplayer - I use identity cloaker with the UK proxy if I want to watch iplayer, (which I really don't do that often) and wifi it to the tv too. Seems to work pretty well with no delays :)
Don't worry Ashcroft, we'll get full coverage of the world cup on Fox Soccer and ESPN. :D
    Come on ENGLAND!!!
