    Advice would be nice..

Hello there. I'm Ryan, I'm 20. My girlfriend who I'd love nothing more than to have her as my wife, is living in fort worth Texas.
I unfortunately am in Gloucester, 2 hours west of London.
I've been and seen her enough times now for me to be sure I want to immigrate.
Recently, I've been told that I will be losing my job on the 11th of September this year, ((Yes, I'm aware of the terrible omen)) I've been scared about it for a while and finally decided, that if I've got the money, (or will have) and a passport, and the person I love more than anything, is stuck over there away from me.. then I want to move.
    Problem being.. Visa's.
I've found out as much as I can on my own. But really there's simply things you need to ask others about that you can't find in most goverment sites
I want to go over on a immigrant skilled or unskilled worker visa. but have heard that it wouldn't be possible to get it within 3 months. (Dont worry, i wasn't daft enough to think that one possible)
however... i was hoping to go over in october. and i really dont want to go, be unable to get everything sorted, end up having to come back without any money, and no job. Not even daring to bring up the situation at the moment with the Recession and lack of jobs.

Some people have suggested going to america with a normal visa waiver, the one you fill out on the plane, and getting a prospective employer to file for a nonimmigrant visa. and trying to change the status once thats all sorted.

As i said, i could really just use some help

I dont know a great deal on immigrating to america, but do you have any skills that they are short off. Can your girlfriend's family sponsor you initially!!!!

Maybe u should contact the American Embassy in the UK and ask what is required.

My main profession is a data clerk, with just under 2 years combined experience
but i'm also good at, sorting, filing, and other general office duties.
I thought sponsoring was only to do with jobs? and otherwise i thought it had to be immediate family?

The US embassy based in london, is absolutely worthless. they had me talked around into a circle, for 11 minutes. wasting around £15 to find out nothing more than i did before i made the call.

    Hi Mate,

I am from Dallas/Fort Worth....best thing for you to do is get a fiance visa with a view to move there on a perm basis. Another option is to go over on a student visa which will allow you to work 20 hours a week and be close to her until you finally decide.

    =)

    Hiya
If migrating to America is anything like Migrating to oz can you not find an agent to set you on the right track ? Would be criminal for you to apply and be refused at least by seeking advice from an agent you would know you are going for the correct visa etc,
    Good Luck with everything
    Cal x
