    agree, I know so many self funded retirees in Oz, well before there 50s, if youve got the nouse, this is the place to make it

    It use to be peacock but unfortunately not now, I think Australia will be on a par with the UK these days, especially with the exchange rate and house prices going up.

    Yes I think those days are well behind us, I can't see too many under 50's being able to retire with a huge nest egg to be honest. If you were a successful businessman/woman then yes it's possible but of course it is anywhere.

    I know a fair few lads that are doing OK, fifos, anything from skilled workers to cleaners, still making huge $$$, if you can tolerate that lifestyle, the oppurtunitys are deffinetly still there.
