LOL Yeah well I think most pro atheletes are overpaid now when you really look at it. If you want to hear something totally ridiculous, look at the NFL over here. e.g Tony Romo, the Cowboys quarter back signed a six year 67.5 million dollar deal that guarantees him 30 million if they sack him before he earns that amount
...or how about Baseball? Alex Rodriguez set a record for baseball's highest contract, signing a $275 million, 10-year agreement with the New York Yankees.
The football players wages in the UK pale into insignificance when compared to that and, the lower divisions dont earn anything near to what the Premiership ones do.
But yeah, they're overpaid, especially when you compare them to the fans that pay for the season tickets to watch them. ;)
Or Wimbledon Tennis? The prize money for the winner last year was 850,000 pounds! Just for being a finalist guaranteed a prize of 425,000... and being a semi finalist? ... 212,000!
Not bad for a few games of tennis eh? Then add on all the multi million pound sponsorship deals that come with it, and you'd do pretty well out of it all. ;)
However... Germany next (eek) come on England!
Having been born in Germany....Come on Germany :)
