Tips on assimilation back into the UK

I'm looking forward to my return to Blighty but a little apprehensive about how to slot back into the system.
How do i get a credit rating
    Register kids for school
    register at a local GP
    best broad band deals
    best utility companies.

This is the area i'm going back too
Its got some good parks, schools (trying for this one) and good transport links. What else should I be aware of?

I will keep this updated with my experiences as and when i er.. experience them

I'm pretty sure you just register with the nearest GP ? We did that when we were living there some years ago, I dont think that has changed.
I have been thinking about the credit rating issue and would assume you just start by buying anything through store credit, doesnt matter what as long as it gets you into the system and then build up from there.
Coincidentally we have been looking at broadband/phone/TV bundles just toady and Virgin seems cheapest and best. Unlimited super fast fibre optic broadband, unlimited UK calls anytime and free to Virgin mobiles, 160 TV channels including all the Discovery, Sport etc. All for £42 a month which is incredible compared to what we pay for nowhere near as many inclusions.
