Thread: Uk will get double dip recession

Its on the verge of it peacock and it has been for a long time, since going into recession in 2008 the overall growth in the uk economy has been -1.5 so actually there hasn't been any overall growth in the last 3 years. Its really grim indeed and with high unemployment, no pay rises and people having a lot less to spend, a double dip recession is more than likely to me, fingers crossed it doesn't happen, all my family and friends are worried and fearing for their jobs.

Yes , unfortunately my mates and family in the UK are saying how expensive it is getting and jobs that give a decent wage are scarce or non existent, only part time or casual jobs that pay peanuts.

To be fair peacock the cost of living has gone up in Australia as well, but they are still getting pay rises, most skilled workers in the uk are on a 4 year pay freeze and this coming April i have to pay nearly £100 more towards my pension, which is actually a pay reduction. Millions of people are going to have far less to live on and will spend less, which will mean lower growth for the uk economy, i think the double dip recession could happen i'm afraid.

sadly it looks like the riots are going to make the economic future even bleaker
